Ingredients

  • 1.5 tsp matcha powder (about 3 grams)

  • 60 ml (2 oz) hot water (about 75–80°C / 170–175°F)

  • 180 ml (6 oz) milk or plant-based milk (oat, almond, soy, etc.)

  • Sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, or sugar) — optional

Instruction

  1. Sift the matcha powder into a bowl or cup to remove clumps.

  2. Add hot water and whisk using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or milk frother until smooth and slightly frothy.

  3. Heat and froth the milk (optional: sweeten it).

  4. Stir or layer as desired, and enjoy your matcha latte hot or iced.
